Registration Basics
The Newts are open to swimmers ages 4-18. Registration will begin in early March here on our website.
With your registration, you'll get access to your own private account that will enable you to easily declare for swim meets, sign-up for jobs, see your children's swim times and histories, maintain your own contact information, and more. LOGIN (TOP RIGHT) EACH YEAR, TO SAVE YOU FROM RE-ENTRY, AS YOUR PREVIOUS YEARS DATA DISPLAYS FOR ANY UPDATES.
Practice Groups
During the registration process you will be asked to sign your child up for a practice group. Swimmers are placed into groups based on skill level and age.
Returning swimmers: Sign up for the group you were in last year or plan to attend Swimmer Evaluations in order to move up.
New swimmers: Sign up for the group that most closely aligns with your child's skill level/age. If in doubt, contact us at [email protected] and plan to attend Swimmer Evaluations.
Mini Newts: New swimmers who are at least 4 years old and potty-trained, comfortable in the water without a parent, and have some swimming experience. Focus is on learning freestyle and backstroke. These swimmers do not compete in meets, but can and often do so if they move up to the Blue practice group during the summer. Recommended ages: 4-6
Blue: Swimmers who can swim freestyle the length of the pool in under 60 seconds. These swimmers also know backstroke and are learning breaststroke and butterfly. Recommended ages: 7-9
Red: Swimmers who know all 4 strokes and are perfecting technique and increasing endurance. Recommended ages: 10-13
Gold: Our most advanced swimmers who have perfected all four strokes; many are year-round swimmers.

A portion of our fee goes to the team (administrative costs, coaching, swimmer t-shirts, swim caps, ribbons, medals, participation trophy, etc.), and a portion goes to our league, ASA ($43.30 per swimmer prior to late registration deadlines). *The ASA League fee does not include the fee for the ASA Championship Meet (Divisionals).* More information about that meet will be available in April.

Volunteer Policy
Well-organized swim meets require an incredible number of volunteers to run smoothly. To ensure that all required jobs are filled and all responsibilities are shared equitably among our families, volunteer sign up is now a part of the registration process. Each family is required to sign up for 4 volunteer shifts/points (that's 4 per family, not per swimmer). Generally families sign up for one shift per meet, but you are welcome to spread your shifts out how you choose. More information about volunteer jobs can be found under the Meets tab.
It is your responsibility to find a replacement to fulfill your volunteer commitment if unable to attend. (Contact the volunteer coordinator if you absolutely cannot.)
